Mumbai, 30 April 2025: The kitchen doors are swinging open once again—MasterChef Australia returns for an electrifying seventeenth season, and this time, it’s all about redemption, legacy, and second chances. Season 17 premiered on JioHotstar and Colors Infinity in India last night. The fan-favourite show welcomed back 24 fan-favourite contestants, each returning with unfinished business and a hunger for the coveted title and $250,000 prize money. From beloved runners-up like Callum Hann, Laura Sharrad, Sarah Todd, Rhiannon Anderson and Pete Campbell, to recent faces from Season 16 including Darrsh Clarke and Sav Perera, the new season promises high-stakes competition and heartwarming comebacks. The show has been produced by Endemol Shine Australia, a Banijay company, for Network Ten and is internationally distributed by Banijay Rights.

Guiding this all-star line-up is the powerhouse panel of Andy Allen, Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin, and multi–Michelin Star Chef Jean-Christophe Novelli. Joining them this season is none other than the legendary Gordon Ramsay, who has kicked off the guest judge appearances in true Ramsay style. From Steph de Sousa’s social media flair to Audra Morrice’s international judging credentials, the kitchen will be filled with familiar faces, fresh twists, and culinary fireworks from the very first episode.

Judge Andy Allen reflects on this season’s emotional edge and high-calibre competition: “Every time I walk into the MasterChef kitchen, it takes me back to where it all began. This place changed my life. I came in not knowing what would happen, and I walked out with a whole new future. Now, as a judge, I try to give others the same support and belief that was given to me. What makes it even more special is the love the show gets from around the world, especially from India. I’ve loved visiting the country, and when I’m there I’ve been blown away by the passion and warmth of our Indian fans, and I love how deeply food connects us, no matter where we come from. Being part of this journey again feels just as exciting as the first time, and I can’t wait to get back to India soon!”

With its global legacy intact and accolades including the TV Week Logie and AACTA awards, MasterChef Australia continues to elevate food television. The show remains the world’s most successful cookery format.

Watch MasterChef Australia Season 17 on JioHotstar and Colors Infinity in India and cheer for your favourite contestants in their ultimate culinary comeback!
