Description

The Time of Our Lives invites you into the sometimes crushing embrace of three generations of the Tivolli family as they juggle, fight, love and play their way through the challenges of contemporary family life. The challenges of modern parenting, romantic love and mid-life crisis are the terrain of this contemporary, authentic series produced by Amanda Higgs and Judi McCrossin (The Secret Life of Us).

Brothers Luce and Matt Tivolli and their sister Chai Li are in their late thirties and early forties, with families and partners of their own. Middle child Luce (Shane Jacobson) is an easygoing musician sharing a sometimes chaotic but happy life with partner Bernadette (Justine Clarke). Luce’s older brother Matt (William McInnes) is a sports agent married to stay-at-home mum Caroline (Claudia Karvan). Their younger sister, Chai Li (Michelle Vergara Moore) returns to Australia with a plan to start a new life close to her family, until her wedding day takes an unpredictable turn. Luce’s best mate Herb (Stephen Curry) has been a part of the Tivolli family since he was a young boy.

Season 2 sees all of our characters facing a future they never expected. The season opens with a shocking accident that irreversibly changes the lives of everyone in the Tivolli family. Chai Li races home to Australia, and the three siblings reassess their roles in the family. Bernadette makes the toughest decision of her life in the wake of her breast cancer gene results; while Luce must ultimately put the financial security of his family ahead of his musical ambitions. Caroline’s request for an ‘easy’ divorce isn't going quite as planned and Matt is humbled when he loses almost everything. Chai Li and Herb’s romance unravels quickly and damage is done. Herb is forced to face more emotional upheaval and the repercussions are life-changing.
