What Happens In

In this new documentary format we follow young thrill-seekers for a long summer in a hedonistic party resort, away from their parents and surrounded by temptation in a town where normal rules do not apply.

Through a combination of behind the scenes access to many of the resort’s main institutions, the bars and clubs that host party animals every night, to the tattoo parlours, sex shops, hotel rooms and emergency clinic where their lifestyles lead them, we see a world where anything goes and where sometimes things go wrong.

This, combined with intimate, revelatory interviews with the holiday-makers, young workers and locals, give us a fascinating insight into what’s going in the heads of young people today. This is what happens when youngsters escape their parents and disappointing jobs to let loose in a party town thousands of miles from home.

For these young people, pushing their new found freedoms to the limits is what life in these party resorts is all about.

‘Getting paid and getting laid’ is the motto of the four hundred or so young people who work here through the Summer season: some sleep with a few, one is said to have bedded more than 100 in just a few weeks. For these teenagers, ‘what happens in…, stays in…’ is no longer true as our cameras are there to capture every step of the way…
