GUNPOWDER is a visceral drama telling the story of England’s original terrorist plot. The BBC series, from leading production company Kudos and written by BAFTA nominated writer Ronan Bennett, will give the story of the Gunpowder Plot a bold and provocative treatment, rich in contemporary resonance. Carefully recreating England of 1605, an era perilously fractured by religious divisions, we follow a group of disillusioned and desperate young radicals as they are driven to attempt the most heinous of acts.
