Tom Thwaites is an inventor and artist and in this series he sets off on a journey of innovation and adventure as he tries to build everyday items that we can’t live without using only raw materials and his own two hands. In each episode he focuses on one household product which he is challenged to build using only raw materials sourced in the UK. In each of the four episodes he travels across the country searching for everything he needs before a nerve-jangling finale at which his product will be tested out – will he have managed to master the processes that turn raw materials into useable parts as well the technology and design to make a working product?
