Description
Mandelmann’s farm offers Swedish summer idyll at its best. The viewer is transported to Simrishamn, or more specifically to the farm Djupadal just outside Simrishamn. Here we meet a family with a slightly different, and almost dreamy, lifestyle. Since 1996, spouses Gustav and Marie, and their four children Aaron, Tora, Disa and Joel has lived on a self-sustaining farm. On the farm, which consists of two houses, four greenhouses, a painting studio, a barn, a sheep-pen, and 30 hectares of land, they grow everything from kiwi and ginger to tomatoes and potatoes. They refine herbal salt and make their own apple juice, jam and ketchup. They build wind turbines and bathouses. There are cows, chickens, sheep and pigs. Entering the yard is like going back in time. It’s a harmonious and beautiful place where you get the opportunity to sink into a warm and comfortable trot, which is anything but "big city". The family Mandelmann includes the dad Gustav Mandel Mann who at one point describes zealously how lush soil running through your fingers feel. His passion and joy cannot be mistaken, and makes him a very strong and entertaining character.
