Detective Louise Poquelin is a single mother, who works tirelessly to balance her all important career and busy family life. When she is entrusted with a murder investigation in Lille, Poquelin must team up with a new partner, Detective Etienne De Beaumont, a well-to-do cop with aristocratic origins. Poquelin and De Beaumont have completely different personalities and clash in both a cultural and social sense. However their obvious differences become a major asset in the field as they delve deep into the complexity of their investigations.
In film 2, Louise and Etienne are sent to a boarding school after the suicide of one of its French teachers. But evidence left at the scene is disturbing. Though the victim left a letter, medical expert Timothée believes it could potentially be a case of murder.
In film 3, a former cop now a thriller author is killed during an event organized by a collective of writers. Louise and Etienne investigate to find out who murdered him and why. As a former cop he had a lot of enemies, as a successful author he aroused jealousy and on top of that he was a serial seducer with a predilection for married women. Louise and Etienne are inundated with suspects who have a real motive for the murder.
In film 4 an intervention by a group of vegan activists on an agricultural farm turns sour when one of its members is stabbed. Polar opposite detectives, Poquelin and De Beaumont, must put aside their differences to solve a series of murder cases.
