Description

Adventure Line Productions for Channel 4

The Crystal Maze is a British game show that originally aired on Channel 4 from 1990 to 1995. Hosted by Richard O'Brien (1990-1993) and later by Edward Tudor-Pole (1993-1995), the show features teams of contestants navigating through four themed zones: Aztec, Medieval, Industrial, and Futuristic.

In each zone, contestants face a series of physical, mental, skill, and mystery challenges to earn crystals. Each crystal won adds five seconds to the team's time in the final challenge, the Crystal Dome. In the Crystal Dome, contestants must collect as many gold tokens as possible while avoiding silver tokens, with the goal of achieving a high score.

The show is known for its imaginative set designs, engaging challenges, and the charismatic hosting style of O'Brien and Tudor-Pole. The combination of adventure, teamwork, and humour made The Crystal Maze a beloved and iconic series of the 1990s.
