In Survivor South Africa’s first season featuring returnees, twenty former castaways reignite their flames to play the world’s greatest game on South Africa’s unspoiled Sunshine Coast. They are divided into two tribes: Yontau, with outcasts whose torches were snuffed before they reached merge, and Masu, comprising tribemates who made it to merge but ended up in the jury. Whether they’re pre-merge or post-merge boots, these returnees all have a score to settle and are driven by a dogged determination not to repeat their past mistakes. However, they soon learn that being second-time players can be twice as hard. Not only are they confronted by several brand-new Survivor twists, but they must also navigate their way through a complex web of pre-existing relationships formed inside and outside the game and across tribal lines. What ensues is a brutal season of blindsides that also redefines what it takes to “outwit”, “outplay”, and “outlast.”
