Northern Pictures for ABC

Comedian Jimmy Rees and tiny craft artist JoAnne Bouzianis-Sellick unite with the extraordinary crafts people to re-create remarkable moments in Australia’s history, in glorious miniature.

Local artisans accept the challenge to hand build tableaus representing intriguing events that have all but vanished from living memory. Each build requires several months of work, as they go from concept, to crafting, working in teams, and collaborating with experts, such as historians, community leaders and descendants. These are intensive labours of love as tiny worlds come to life.

Celebrating history and craft in equal measure, Jimmy and JoAnne reveal Australia in exquisite detail, through the surprising craftspeople who are working against pressures of time and scale, and lovingly slave over teensy details.
