ITN Productions for Channel 5

Emily Longley was an aspiring model from New Zealand living in the UK, in a relationship with self-professed playboy Elliot Turner. The pair met and hit it off immediately, but cracks began to appear in the relationship as Turner developed a controlling and manipulative side.

Paranoid, jealous and fuelled by alcohol after a night out, Turner strangled Emily in his bed then claimed he’d found her dead after an argument. His parents, Anita and Leigh, then tried to cover up his crime. Turner was sentenced for 16 years for Emily’s murder with his parents jailed for 27 months for perverting the course of justice. In many ways this was a murder in slow motion – with the egotistical Turner manipulating and coercively controlling Emily throughout the relationship, until it’s violent end.

Featured contributors include the family of Emily Longley and Police officers who interviewed and ran covert monitoring at the Turner Household.
