Description
Mayday is a five-part thriller, the story of a small community from the moment a young girl on her way to the Mayday parade goes missing, presumed murdered. This is no ordinary town: It’s a town proud of its individuality, steeped in pagan tradition, a place where they still crown a May Queen. But beneath the picture-postcard idyll lies a sinister ‘otherworldliness’ and the dark woods teem with myth. This is a familiar story, but it is not told from the point of view of those at its centre, the panicking parents or the determined police. This story unfolds through the eyes of those on the outside, the bystanders. The story is told through five characters who suspect someone they know, but must keep silent; LINUS, FIONA, STEVE, GAIL, and ‘GOOD SETH’. Mayday examines how a single event can have a seismic impact beyond the walls of a family home, reaching out and affecting the whole community, changing lives forever. This is a town facing the reality that a terrible crime has been committed by somebody's husband, somebody's son. The killer is among them, one of them.
