On the same day Anouk becomes the youngest lawyer to join her firm’s partner program, she is taken aback by a balloon with a personal message from her former professor and ex-lover, Patrick Hartman. Known for his womanising ways, Hartman’s “joke” makes Anouk laugh uncomfortably before she heads to work. However, when Hartman unexpectedly appears at her office later, Anouk is overwhelmed with nausea. What could he possibly want after all these years?
As Anouk tries to dodge Hartman’s increasingly frequent visits and focus on her career and relationship with her boyfriend Bram, Hartman relentlessly drags her back into their shared past, including the parts she desperately wants to forget.
Meanwhile, the law school initiates an investigation into Hartman’s inappropriate behavior following multiple leads. The investigation sends shockwaves through the legal community, as many, including Anouk’s colleagues and bosses, know Hartman personally. Despite his notorious reputation, the victims struggle to be heard, with the benefit of the doubt often favoring Hartman.
This makes it even more challenging for Anouk to disclose her secret. Will she ever find the courage to speak out? And if she does, what will be the cost?
