Valley Cops Season 1: 3 x 60' Canny Cops Season 1: 3 x 60'

Minnow Films for BBC Three

Policing the valleys In the South Wales Valleys, everyone knows everyone. Cops and robbers are on first name terms, and the police custody suite can be more like a school reunion than a route to prison.

This series is filmed over six months, with extraordinary access to the cops, criminals and the community – and unlike traditional blue light series, the offenders in Valley Cops (w/t) are central characters alongside the police.

Through disarmingly honest interviews and actuality, this programme shows the complexities of policing and crime in a remote community.

The series explores a range of criminal cases by following the cops who grew up in the Valleys, and now police their own geographically and socially unique corner of Britain.

As Ryan, the Custody Officer says “Sometimes I get members of my extended family coming in. It can be a bit awkward…”
