Tony White is a professional underwater photographer and there are few greater spectacles for someone is his profession than the annual sardine migration up the east coast of South Africa. However, in June 2002, Tony nearly lost his life in a shark attack whilst photographing this mass of sardines. With a lot of good fortune, Tony managed to survive the attack and tell his tale.

Now fully recovered from his terrifying experience, though bearing huge scars as a permanent reminder, Tony has decided he wants to face his nemesis and get back in the water with the shark that attacked him. This programme follows Tony and his wife as they return to South Africa to brave the shark infested waters and photograph the sardine run once again - is he crazy to go back in the water after what happened, or is this the only therapy that will get him over the attack?
