Description

7 Wonder for Channel 4

Hayley and Rich Davies-Monk have two young sons, Spencer aged 13, and Lewis aged 9, both of whom suffer from Tourette’s Syndrome, a neurological disorder, which is expressed in uncontrollable random physical and verbal ‘tics’. These tics often break societal taboos around race, sex and class. Not surprisingly, the family have kept to themselves for many years to avoid public embarrassment and hostility.

In this film the parents decide for the first time since the diagnosis that their kids deserve the same childhood as any other. From meals out, to their first trip abroad, we follow their first steps into the world, which prove to be both extremely challenging and rewarding.
