Description
Beat the Nation is a quiz format which tests the knowledge of its contestants in relation to the rest of the country.
Some call it the fairest quiz show on television, because on Beat the Nation we know precisely how hard each question is and we award points accordingly. The harder the question, the more points you’ll score. Here’s how it works... One of the country’s leading polling organisations has already asked all our questions to more than 1000 people across the country. We know how many people got each question right and how many got each question wrong. In other words, we know what the nation knows. When one of our studio contestants is asked a question, we know that out of 1000 people, 45% gave the correct answer. So, if our studio contestant gets it right, they will have beaten 55% of the nation and will therefore score 55 points. And that’s not all we know. We explore how a whole range of different sections of society performed on our questions. So, while you watch four contestants battling it out for the chance to win £5000, you’ll also be learning just how clever or, perhaps, just how stupid you – and the entire nation – really are. Beat the Nation is an intelligent, modern, insightful quiz but it’s also warm and inclusive. Nice is the new nasty. It’s a quiz for the Nation about the Nation.
