Even the biggest events in the world can’t pull such high calibre talent…the One and Only can. The One and Only is a thrilling primetime Saturday night talent show that sees the nation’s premier tribute acts battle it out to not only be the greatest tribute act, but also to snatch the coveted prize: a 3-month residency performing in one of the world’s biggest and best celebrity impersonator shows, Legends in Concert, Las Vegas, USA! Having survived some gruelling nationwide auditions, the best tribute acts travel to the capital to spotlight their talents in an even more critical Superfan Sing-off. This round sees three tribute acts, each representing one music star, sing their hearts out to convince their superstar’s group of Superfans (literally ultra dedicated followers) that they are the real deal. Having established a line-up of 10 world class tribute acts, the captivated viewers are given the opportunity to vote to fill two wild-card spaces (one male and one female). At the end of the first two episodes The One and Only spotlights other top class tribute acts of stars not yet featured on the show. Who will the public give a wild card to? Michael Jackson perhaps, or Bob Marley? Whitney Houston or Dolly Parton?
Having established a line-up of 12 stars, the tribute acts spend the remaining seven weeks training with professionals and singing their superstar’s greatest hits in thrilling live performances. At the end of each episode the viewers vote for their favourite and the two acts with the least votes take to the stage again to prove that they really could be The One. In a fun twist, it is the fellow superstars (tribute acts) who then vote to save one of them. Will they save the best act or perhaps, tactically, save the worst?
But most importantly, who will capture the nation’s heart, win the life-changing Las Vegas contract and ultimately be crowned…
