Description
An exciting drama about fighting, surviving and family ties.
Fighter’s Heart takes place in the fanatical, close and special world of martial arts and boxing schools.
Waldemar Torenstra plays the role of Nick Roest, a former K1 champion, released after four years in prison. He landed in jail after a serious violent crime, which involved his young half-brother David Roest (Benja Bruijning) – a lawyer struggling with drug addiction. The brothers have a complicated love-hate relationship, a relationship shaped by their upbringing by their dominant and legendary kickboxing trainer John Roest.
When Nick sets foot again on Dutch soil he’s determined. He’s had to give up everything he once had in order to pay his lawyers and survive in jail. He is determined to fight back in the gym next to his father, to the top of the martial arts ladder.
The day Nick knocks on the door of the gym, is the day John Roest has secretly been hoping for. But he might be too late. When John suffers a stroke he knows his end is approaching, and the old fighter starts to question who should inherit what he has worked so hard to build.
