In Rest In Peace, a renowned crime host takes on one cold case each episode and unravels the shocking story behind an anonymous grave. Each year, hundreds of dead bodies are found on park benches, on the side of the road or washed up on shore. They have no passport, no driver’s license, no credit card; nothing to identify them with. Without any leads they become cold cases and end up in anonymous graves.
Together with a team of specialists, our host re-opens the investigation in order to put a name on the grave and give the family members the closure they deserve.
Looking through archives where no one has looked before, uncovering new leads, emotional recollections of eyewitnesses and elaborate reconstructions of the hours before death will hopefully reveal what happened. Was it a tragic accident? Or maybe murder?
After a team of forensic experts help in piecing the puzzle together, the host travels to wherever the case leads him, where he finally finds the relatives in desperate need of answers. How will they react when they finally hear what happened to their loved one? In an emotional climax a name is placed on the grave so that the family can finally move on and give their loved one the farewell.
